1. What Petfi is

Petfi is a social app for pets and their people: pet profiles, friends, groups, a marketplace, breeding listings, and care tools. Petfi is currently in an early-access period; features may change.

2. Who can use Petfi

• You must be 13 or older to have an account.
• You must be 18 or older to buy, sell, advertise, list a pet for breeding, or use Mate Match for people.
• One person per account. Keep your password private — you are responsible for what happens on your account.

3. Your content

You own what you post. By posting, you give Petfi permission to show your content inside the app to other users. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share.

4. Marketplace & breeding

• Petfi is a venue — sales, purchases and breeding arrangements happen directly between users. Petfi is not a party to those transactions and doesn't guarantee them.
• Listings must be honest: real photos, true prices, and (for breeding) accurate age, health and pedigree information.
• Farm and livestock breeding listings (cattle, goats, sheep, horses, pigs, poultry and others) are welcome. You are responsible for any state agriculture, health-certificate, brand-inspection and transport rules that apply to your animals.
• Selling requires an Owner account. Illegal sales — including protected or wild animals — are banned and will be reported.
• Payments: Petfi does not process payments. Buyers and sellers arrange payment, pickup and shipping directly. Petfi currently charges no fee on member listings. Never pay a seller you haven't spoken with, and prefer in-person exchange for live animals.
• No homemade consumables: food, treats and anything a pet ingests must be sealed, commercially licensed products — the same regulations real pet stores follow.
• Shipping & refunds: delivery and refunds are entirely between buyer and seller (and any retail partner, e.g. Amazon). Petfi is not responsible for an order at any point.
• Follow your local laws on animal sales, breeding and rehoming. You are responsible for compliance.

5. Animal welfare

Content showing or encouraging animal abuse or neglect is banned and gets an immediate, permanent ban. Knowingly selling sick animals without disclosure is banned.

6. Fees, affiliate links & donations

Identity verification and Spotlight ads will become paid features; prices will always be shown before you pay, and during early access they are free. Petfi pledges 50% of its profit (store commissions, ads and subscriptions) to the Petfi Pledge fund: adoption fees for shelter pets, emergency veterinary bills, and cremation costs for families facing a sudden loss. Petfi does not collect donations itself yet — the Donate page links you directly to real shelters.

Affiliate disclosure: some products in the Pet Store link to outside retailers (such as Amazon and Chewy). If you buy through those links, Petfi may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Prices shown in Petfi are approximate; the retailer's live price, shipping, returns and support govern those purchases. As an Amazon Associate, Petfi earns from qualifying purchases.

7. What you can't do

• Harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone.
• Spam, scam, or mislead.
• Post sexual, violent, or hateful content.
• Scrape data or interfere with the service.

8. Moderation, suspension & ending an account

Every post, listing and profile has a Report option, and reports are anonymous to the person reported. You can also block anyone — they can no longer message you or see you nearby. We review reports and may remove content, suspend an account, or remove it permanently, with or without notice, to keep the community safe.

First offenses usually get content removed and a warning. Serious or repeated violations — especially anything involving animal welfare or scams — mean a permanent ban.

9. Disclaimers

Petfi is provided "as is". We do our best, but we can't promise the app will always be available or error-free. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Petfi isn't liable for disputes between users, lost profits, or indirect damages. Nothing in the app is veterinary advice — always consult a vet for health decisions.

10. Changes

If these terms change in a meaningful way, we'll post the update in the app and on this page. Continuing to use Petfi after an update means you accept the new terms.

Community Guidelines

Petfi should feel like the friendliest dog park on the internet. Here's how we keep it that way.

💛 Be kind

Talk to people (and pets) like you're face to face at the park. No harassment, hate, or pile-ons — disagree nicely or scroll on.

🐶 Pets first

We love funny pet content. We never allow content showing animals hurt, scared, or neglected — report it the moment you see it.

🏡 Local vs 🌎 Everyone

Home has two feeds. Everyone is nationwide and family-friendly — posts and comments with slurs or profanity are blocked there automatically. Local shows posts from within about 50 miles of your ZIP and is unfiltered: talk like you would at the dog park. These guidelines still apply in both — no harassment, threats, hate, or anything illegal — and anyone can report a post. When you post you choose the feed; Local posts never appear in Everyone, and others see only your town, never your address.

🛒 Sell honestly

Real photos, real prices, real health info. If you're selling or breeding, disclose everything a caring buyer would want to know. Never sell homemade food or treats — consumables must be sealed, licensed products so no pet gets hurt.

🔒 Respect privacy

Don't share someone else's personal info, screenshots of private messages, or photos of people without permission.

🚩 See something? Report it

Every post and profile has a Report option. Reports are anonymous. You can also block anyone — they won't be able to message you or see you nearby.
