Child Safety Standards
Petfi is a social app for pets, their owners, and farmers. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind. This page states our standards, how anyone can report a concern, and what we do about it.
In short: no sexual content involving minors, ever, in any form; no grooming, sextortion, or solicitation of minors; every post has a report button; reports are reviewed by a human; offending content is removed and accounts are terminated; we preserve evidence and report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement as required by law.
1. Who may use Petfi
You must be at least 13 years old to create a Petfi account, and at least 18 to sell, advertise, post breeding listings, or use Mate Match for people. Petfi is not directed at children, and the app is listed on Google Play for ages 18 and over.
2. What is prohibited
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including drawn, animated, or AI-generated depictions.
- Sexualized content involving or appearing to involve anyone under 18.
- Grooming: contacting, befriending, or building trust with a minor for sexual purposes.
- Sextortion, sexual solicitation, or arranging to meet a minor for sexual purposes.
- Sharing or requesting personal information about a minor for these purposes.
- Any link, code word, or off-platform pointer to such material.
These rules apply everywhere in Petfi: posts, comments, photos, videos, profile pictures and names, messages, groups, listings, and the Local feed, which is otherwise unfiltered for language.
3. How to report
- In the app: tap the 🚩 flag on any post, or “Report” on any member profile, choose the reason, and add details. Reports are anonymous to the person reported.
- By email: support@petfi.pet (subject “Child safety”). Include the member name and, if you have it, a link or screenshot.
- Emergencies: if a child is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement first. In the United States you can also report to NCMEC’s CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
4. What happens to a report
- A human on the Petfi team reviews every report. Child safety reports are handled first, ahead of all other moderation.
- Content that violates these standards is removed immediately and the account is permanently terminated. We do not warn first.
- We preserve the relevant content and account data as evidence for the period required by law, even after removal.
- We report apparent CSAM to NCMEC and cooperate with law enforcement requests in every country where Petfi is available.
- We may also proactively remove content and terminate accounts we discover ourselves, and we block re-registration where we can identify it.
5. Compliance
Petfi complies with applicable child safety laws, including U.S. federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A) on reporting apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC, and with Google Play’s Child Safety Standards policy. We review these standards at least once a year and whenever the law or the app changes.
6. Contact
Child safety point of contact: Spindola Software, support@petfi.pet. Law enforcement may use the same address; we respond to valid legal process.
